We had our house listed on and off for approximately one year with three different realtors, with not even one offer and not much attention. We had listed with one of the top Realtors (self acclaimed) who claimed she could sell within so many days and she was unable to sell our house.

We got Lyndell Ruff's name through a family friend who had used lyndell on other occassions and we contacted her to list our house. Because we were in a panic now as my husband had been offered to start a job in Quesnell, BC from Calgary immediately, it was crucial that we sell our house as soon as possible.

Last Friday we had supper with Warren & Bev Boucher. You know it's interesting that we still thank them for introducing you to us every time we see them. First Time Buyers
My wife and I are your typical first-time buyers. We were married just under one year ago and are expecting our first child this summer, so it was time to get out of the apartment and start looking for that first home purchase. We began our search on our own, but quickly realized that there was just too much information to be absorbed regarding areas, prices, builders, schools, etc. The variables involved in the decision making process became increasingly more onerous to identify, analyze, and prioritize. A friend recommended we contact Lyndell Ruff at Re/Max. He described her as a friendly, dedicated, hardworking, trustworhty and diligent person who was willing to work at the customer's pace. He was right! We first contacted Lyndell in November 1998 to meet with her and see if she would be someone we could trust in assisting us with the biggest purchase of our lives. We met and she was! We let her know what type of home we were interested in looking at and the areas. We informed her we were just starting the process and it would be six months before we actually were going to buy a home. We just wanted to start the process to see what product was available. She thought that it was a great idea to do a lot of research before we bought. She took us out one day in November just to get a feel for what we were looking for and them we both got to work. Over the next six months Lyndell supplied us with information on homes in the areas we were interested in while keeping her eyes open for something appealing. If we wanted to see a home she arranged it for us. There was absolutely no pressure at any time to "buy now" or "make a commitment or you will lose this deal". It was always at a pace we were comfortable with. In fact she advised us to hold out the whole six months as house prices were declining at the time and we estimate that we saved approximately $15,000 to $20,000 on our eventual purchase by doing so. We found this to be a true indication of her character and dedication to her customer, considering she works on commission!! When we told Lyndell we were ready to go, we got together on a Sunday and bought a house the next day. Simple, easy, reduced stress and a comfortable feeling about the entire process including the price paid made it an enjoyable experience. Will we use Lyndell again when it is time to move again? Without a doubt. Her genuine concern for our family's future has made her a true friend of the family. Thanks Lyndell. Our door is open to you anytime, but don't forget about the security system!! As a recent university graduate with my first professional job, the purchase of a home seemed the next logical step in my life. However, since I knew absolutely nothing about buying a home, I had no idea where to begin. Upon the recommendation of my parents, who recently used Lyndell to sell their home, I found someone who could provide me with the guidance I was looking for.

From the instant we met, Lyndell and I bonded. I also realized right away that Lyndell was truly one of the best in her profession. Nor only was she good at what she did, she loved what she did. She immediately (almost instinctively) understood my situation and knew exactly how to handle my apprehensions, and believe me, I had a lot of them. Lyndell made me feel comfortable from the get-go by initiating me into the home buying process slowly and patiently. Belated thanks for everything you did during our recent search for a new home. Being first-time home buyers, your guidance, expertise and most importantly patience were greatly appreciated. We are thrilled with our purchase and can hardly wait to move in!

Thank you also for all of the time you gave to us.
